Hold Fast to Your Spiritual Identity

In a world where identities are constantly being challenged and redefined, it is crucial to remember who we are in the eyes of the Most High. The enemy seeks to erase our sense of self, trying to take away our national identity, sexual identity, family role identity, and ethnic identity (Deuteronomy 8:2, Psalm 83:4). However, the ultimate goal is to strip us of our spiritual identity. We must hold fast to our spiritual roots, remembering that our true identity is in YaHWaH (2 Corinthians 5:17, υἱοθεσία - adoption as sons).

The Scripture warns us that in the last days, people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, and lovers of pleasure, rather than lovers of YaHWaH (2 Timothy 3:1-5). This is a clear attempt to distract us from our spiritual identity and replace it with fleeting, worldly identities. But we are called to be a holy people, set apart for the Most High (Leviticus 20:26, קָדוֹשׁ - holy). We must remember that our spiritual identity is rooted in our relationship with YaHWaH, and that we are His children, adopted through Adonai Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:5, υἱόθετος - adopted son).

As we navigate the challenges of this world, let us not forget who we are and whose we are. We are not defined by our national, sexual, family, or ethnic identities, but by our spiritual identity as children of YaHWaH (1 Peter 2:9-10, ἐκλεκτός - chosen). Let us hold fast to this truth, remembering that our spiritual identity is the one thing that the enemy cannot take away from us (1 Corinthians 2:12, μυστήριον - mystery). As the prophet Isaiah reminds us, "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine" (Isaiah 43:1, יָרֵא - fear).
