Trusting in the Right Source

As we honor this Shabbat, I am reminded of the importance of trusting in the right source. In Isaiah 30:12-33:9, we read about the consequences of trusting in falsehood and the promise of mercy when we turn to YaHWaH. The prophet warns against putting confidence in human strength and worldly alliances, instead of trusting in YaHWaH's power and provision. This warning is echoed in Galatians 5:1-12, where Paul cautions against being entangled again with the yoke of bondage, reminding us that our liberty comes from Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus the Christ or Yahawasha Hamashiach).

The recent airstrike on Al Jawf Prison in Yemen serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of human conflict and the importance of seeking refuge in YaHWaH. Scripture tells us that such events are a precursor to a greater reckoning, as seen in Isaiah 33:1-6, where YaHWaH's wrath is likened to a devouring fire. Yet, even in the midst of judgment, YaHWaH promises to show mercy to those who trust in Him. Many speculate if we are in the times of Ezekiel 37-39's war. It may or may not be that time, but one thing is for certain and that is the time is short and the days are growing shorter. As we read in Psalm 63:1-11, David's cry to YaHWaH in the wilderness is a powerful reminder of the importance of seeking YaHWaH's presence and provision, even in the most barren and dry of times.
