Embracing the Law of Love

As we honor this Shabbat, I am drawn to the beautiful connection between love and the Law. In Romans 13:1-14, we read about submitting to authorities and loving our neighbors, which reminds me that the Law can be summed up by "Love your neighbor as yourself." This truth resonates deeply with Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus the Christ / Yahawasha)'s teachings, where He says that He came to fulfill the Law, not replace it.

Leading with Love

The idea that love is the fulfillment of the Law is profound. It means that when we follow the Law with love, we are not just keeping rules, but rather, we are embracing the heart of YaHWaH. As we read in Psalm 23:1-6, YaHWaH is our Shepherd, guiding us with love and care. This love is not just a feeling but a choice, a decision to prioritize the well-being of others and to live in harmony with YaHWaH's commands.

The Law Written on Our Hearts

In 2 Chronicles 26:1-28:27, we see the rise and fall of kings, each with their own story of obedience and disobedience. However, the underlying theme is that YaHWaH's Law is not just a set of rules, but a reflection of His love for us. When we follow the Law with love, we are not just keeping rules, but rather, we are responding to YaHWaH's love. As Yeshua teaches, "be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect," which means striving to love as YaHWaH loves.

Proverbs and the Power of Love

Proverbs 20:11 reminds us that even a child is known by his actions, whether pure and right or not. This verse encourages us to examine our actions and ensure they are guided by love. When we lead with love, our actions become a reflection of YaHWaH's character, and we demonstrate our commitment to following His Law.
