Faith and Righteousness in the Eyes of YaHWaH
As we honor this Shabbat, I am drawn to the words of Paul in Romans 4:22, where he writes that Abraham's faith was "accounted to him for righteousness." This statement resonates deeply with me, as it highlights the profound connection between faith and righteousness in the eyes of YaHWaH. In the context of our reading from 1 Chronicles, we see the meticulous attention to detail in the organization of the temple and its services, demonstrating the importance of obedience to YaHWaH's commands.
However, Paul's teachings in Romans remind us that our righteousness is not solely based on our adherence to the law. Rather, it is our faith in YaHWaH's promises and His faithfulness that ultimately justifies us. This is beautifully illustrated in the life of Abraham, who trusted in YaHWaH's covenant promises despite the uncertainties and challenges he faced. As we read in Romans 4:13-15, Abraham's faith was not weakened by his circumstances, and he was declared righteous because of his trust in YaHWaH.
The Perfect Sacrifice
Yeshua Ha Mashiach (some call Him Jesus the Christ, some call Him Yahawasha)'s sacrifice on the cross is a pivotal aspect of our understanding of faith and righteousness. As Paul writes in Romans 5:1-5, we have been justified by faith and have peace with YaHWaH through Yeshua. His perfect sacrifice satisfied the requirement of death for our sins, as outlined in the law. In Hebrews 6:6, we are reminded that when we sin willfully, we are essentially crucifying Yeshua all over again, demonstrating the gravity of our actions.
