Embracing the Throne of Judgment

As we honor this Shabbat, I am drawn to the words of Psalm 9:7, which says, "But Adonai sits as King forever; He has established His throne for judgment." These words remind me that our YaHWaH is a YaHWaH of justice and righteousness. He is not a distant ruler, but a loving Father who desires our obedience and love.

In 1 Chronicles 11-12, we read about the establishment of King David's throne, a shadow of YaHWaH's eternal throne. David's story is one of triumph and failure, but ultimately, it is a story of YaHWaH's faithfulness and love. As we reflect on David's life, we are reminded that YaHWaH's love is not a license to sin, but a call to obedience and righteousness.

The concept of grace is often misunderstood as a free pass to sin, but true grace is the opportunity to come back to YaHWaH and obey Him. As we read in Acts 28, the apostle Paul's journey is a testament to YaHWaH's grace and redemption. Despite facing numerous challenges and setbacks, Paul remained faithful, and his story inspires us to do the same.

In Proverbs 19:1-3, we are reminded that "better is a poor person who walks in his integrity than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool." This wisdom teaches us that our actions have consequences and that YaHWaH desires our obedience and integrity. Grace is not an excuse for sin but a chance to demonstrate our love for YaHWaH through our actions. The integrity of our actions is required to show God that we love Him and are willing to serve Him in Spirit and in Truth.
