The Loudness of Silence in YaHWaH's Answer - When Silence Speaks Volumes

As we honor this Shabbat, I am reminded of the profound wisdom hidden within the pages of Scripture. Our reading from 2 Kings 23:31-25:30 paints a picture of a nation in turmoil, with leaders rising and falling, and the people of YaHWaH facing uncertainty. Yet, amidst the chaos, we find glimpses of YaHWaH's faithfulness and sovereignty.

In Acts 22:17-23:10, we see Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ) working through His apostle, Sha'ul (Paul), to spread the message of salvation to the nations. Despite the challenges and persecutions, Sha'ul remains steadfast, trusting in the power of Yeshua to guide him. This trust is rooted in the understanding that YaHWaH's timing is not our own, and that His answers may not always align with our expectations.

Psalm 2:1-12 offers a beautiful expression of trust in YaHWaH's sovereignty, declaring, "YaHWaH has spoken, and His word is faithful and true." The psalmist reminds us that YaHWaH's ways are not our ways, and that His thoughts are higher than ours. This is a powerful reminder that our prayers are always heard, and that YaHWaH's answers are always given, even if they don't fit our timeline or understanding.

As I reflect on Proverbs 18:13, which cautions against answering before listening, I am struck by the importance of silence in our relationship with YaHWaH. Sometimes, the loudest statement YaHWaH makes is in the silence. It is in these moments that we must trust that He is working, even when we cannot see or hear the answer. I am reminded of the prophet Eliyahu (Elijah) when we was in a cave awaiting YaHWaH's guidance (1 Kings 19:11-12):
