The Light That Was Spoken

When Scripture opens, the first thing the Most High gives is light — not the sun (that comes on day four), but light itself, spoken into being. The Hebrew ʾôr is light as revelation, the uncovering of what was hidden in the dark.

As we come to this Shabbat, consider how Yeshua takes up that same word: "I am the light of the world." The rest the Most High entered on the seventh day is not absence of action — it is the settledness of a finished, good work.
